President Donald Trump is withdrawing National Guard troops from Chicago, Illinois, Portland, Oregon, and Los Angeles, California, after the Supreme Court preliminarily found that he lacked authority to do so, specifically in Chicago.

The court stated, “At this preliminary stage, the Government has failed to identify a source of authority that would allow the military to execute the laws in Illinois.”
An appellate court already found that the executive branch is allowed to deploy the National Guard in the District of Columbia. Troops have also been deployed to Memphis, Tennessee, and New Orleans, Louisiana.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for President Trump and federal law enforcement as they assess the rates of crime around the nation.
- For the justices of the Supreme Court as they hear and rule on challenges to the president’s authority.
- For the president and members of his Cabinet as they implement reforms and update policies nationwide.
